Notably, you don't necessarily have to create an account to use the service. You can set up a price watch with just an email address, confirm it, and manage the watch from the link in the email. If you don't want to hand over your email at all, you can add the price watch RSS feed to your newsreader and wait for alerts to arrive there.
If you do eventually create an account, any price watches you've set up using the same email address will be transferred over to your notifications list.
